Frequently Asked Questions

Do I get to see a preview?

Yes! Once I’ve worked up your draft, I’ll email over a high-res digital proof so you can get a really good look at. It only ever goes to the printer once you’re happy.

Can I make changes/adjustments?

Absolutely. We can as many changes/adjustments as you need. Nothing goes to out until you’re 100% happy.

Can I add text/message to my piece?

Yes you can! I often add a line of text at the bottom of a portrait - sometimes it’s the first line of an address, a family name, a completion date …or something completely random. Whatever it is, let me know and I’ll make sure it’s included.

Psst - If you can’t think of something, or you prefer a cleaner look, they look just as good without too.

Can you put people/pets into the portrait?

I can indeed. Scroll my instagram feed and you’ll see a growing collection of portraits that include people and pets. I charge an additional £10 per person (or pet) and I’ll need a reference image to work from too.

What size prints do you do?

The short answer is, “whatever size you like.”

Because I draw all your portraits digitally as vector graphics they’re completely scalable - that means they can be as BIG (or small) as you like.

Psst - most people go with A3 or A4.

Can you frame my print?

I can, but it’s costly.

Because I can size your prints to your exact spec, I would encourage you do it at home.

That said, if you really want the finishing touches, zero hassle and you’re happy to pay for it, just let me know what you have in mind and I’ll get it sorted.

What People Are Saying

What makes a good reference shot?

The best ones to work from cover these three basic things…

  1. Frame it - super simple, make sure whatever you want included is in the shot - a fence, a wall, a tree or whatever. Often you’re better standing a pace or two further to make sure.

  2. Perspective - My style is bold and flat so stand as ‘face-on’ to your subject as possible.

  3. Light - if you can, wait for a sunny day. It’s not essential but it always helps.

Where do you ship to?

Most of the work I do is in the UK but I can ship worldwide - just drop me a message to let me know where you are and I can work out any additional delivery costs

Shipping times

Depending on how busy I am, I can normally get a draft to you within 7-10 days. From there, once you’ve approved your proof, your print will arrive directly from the printer within a further 10 days.

What if there’s an error on my print?

Very (very) occasionally you might find an error on your print - we’re dealing paper and ink after all. Don’t panic, drop me a line with an accompanying photo to let me know what the issue is and I’ll get a new one out to you ASAP.
