Hey, I’m Darren and I draw portraits of buildings, houses and homes. Welcome to my site, Ace of Place!
I’m fascinated by buildings and what they mean to us and I’m on a mission to help you celebrate that!
It all started in 2018 when I drew our home - check out the My Story page to read more about that. Since then I’ve done hundreds more, in all manner of shapes and sizes and I’ve learnt something profound; how a place looks on the outside can be important, but it’s only a small part of how they make us feel on the inside. That’s what I hope to capture and that’s what’s worth celebrating!

I understand that commissioning a piece of art can seem daunting (and expensive) so I’m committed to making my work as accessible as possible.
I’ll draw your home portrait for as little at £75 - regardless of how many adjustments we make - and I’m super open to chatting with you throughout the process, actively encouraging feedback along the way.
If it helps you feel more comfortable, you can even choose to pay a deposit at the start, only paying the final balance once you’re happy with your proof.
